Shawn began practicing his craft at the early age of 5 when his grandfather would take him to the local weekend market where he had a small electronics business. Here Shawn learned the principles of selling, marketing, and sales management, which have since become his callings, his passions, and his strengths. Shawn has been preparing for his new and exciting role as our OTP Sales Coach for over 34 years.
As a Director of Business Office in Canada’s oldest Honda dealership, he not only performs as a F&I Manager, he also sells over 300 cars per year! Shawn says his simple secret to success is his never-ending training and his passion for knowledge. Shawn has practiced the martial arts for over 25 years and firmly believes in life-long learning. He is constantly upgrading his skills in negotiation, sales mechanics, leadership, marketing communication, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), and public speaking in some of the world’s top universities including Harvard Business, Stanford, MIT Haas, Berkeley Sloan, Schulich, and University of Toronto.
Shawn has worked closely with the team at Auto Innovations and has been involved in developing the best line of F&I products on the market. His first-hand understanding of the needs and wants of both the F&I managers and the consumers in terms of protecting their investments has also helped with development. Shawn believes in and stands by Auto Innovations products, and his involvement significantly contributed to the company’s innovation, growth, and success.
Shawn’s ability to connect with both the F&I managers and sales departments is authentic as he works in both of these roles on a daily basis. Own the Pitch is sum of his life’s work. When he is not working, Shawn spends his time perfecting his skills. He lives in the way of “Bushido”, which translates to the way of the Samurai. He continues to practice self-improvement and training in his daily regimen through reading, kickboxing, boxing, powerlifting, and continued education. Shawn is currently enrolled at U of T and is working to complete a leadership certificate. He loves to travel and he sees it as a huge part of his learning.
